Information not available
You’ll find the idyllic Bottle and Glass Point in the Eastern Suburbs’ renowned Nielsen Park. In this flat, grassy area you’ll not only enjoy magnificent views over Vaucluse Bay – gorgeous surroundings for a picnic – but fantastic opportunities for fishing, snorkelling, diving and swimming as well. Unload your picnic hamper and watch the sailboats gently bobbing the bay. Listen to the languid sounds of birdsong and water lapping against the rocks, and feel the breeze rustling through the shady trees. Bring your own gas barbecue if you like or leave the cooking to the experts and head to the nearby Nielsen Park Cafe. Spend some time roaming peninsula and photograph the oddly-shaped Bottle and Glass Rocks – so named in 1799 because the sandstone columns resembled glassware. Once much taller than they are today, the columns were supposedly shattered when used for target practice by passing ships. **To keep visitors safe ALL camping in NSW national parks now requires a booking. For day visitors, please plan ahead and visit outside of peak periods (11am and 2pm). Check park alerts and visit COVID-19 updates for more information before visiting any park – www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au **
