The Cave Creek Walking Track is 14 kilometres north of Mittagong (just past Colo Vale) and can be reached by bitumen roads. The track provides a leisurely walk of 2.6 kilometres and takes one to two hours to complete the return journey. The track descends through various natural settings to Cave Creek, which as the name suggests passes through a small cave.
There are a number of short steep sections along the track. Steps and a ladder have been constructed to assist walkers. A car park and picnic area have been provided at the track head with barbecues, picnic tables and toilets. Water is not available. The ladder should be descended backwards to prevent falling and rocks are slippery at the cave entrance. A torch is essential in the cave.
There are two electric barbecues, picnic tables and toilet facilities.
Maps are available from the Southern Highlands Welcome Centre (Information Centre) in Mittagong.
