After exploring the rainforest on the Cascades walk, the Cascades picnic area near Albion Park is a lovely place for lunch. Surrounded by rainforest and close to a pretty creek, the open grassy area is the perfect spot to spread out a rug and relax. There are picnic tables as well.
Cool in summer and much warmer than the highlands in winter, you can visit all through the year to check out the abundant birdlife, including resident lyrebirds, and goannas. Perhaps you’ll even spot a platypus in the creek. The charming Cascades walk through the rainforest is only 2 kilometre return.
