Alex and Dominic Talimanidis grew up on the kitchen floor of this restaurant when the premises was operated as Kostas Taverna by the Talimanidis family from 1976 until 2003. After trying their hands at various other pursuits, the boys found themselves back in the restaurant industry, at the same venue, with their own restaurant creation called Ipsos. Alex oversees the food, while Dominic is the front of house. Ipsos restaurant in Lorne reflects the boys’ youthful outlook, being a bit edgy, noisy and always loads of fun. The menu reflects Alex’s love of Greece, where he spent every summer of his childhood, playing with his cousins and eating his grandmother’s amazing food. Dominic, the party goer, makes sure that every customer is looked after, leaving satisfied and contented. The wine list is an extensive range of local and overseas varieties. Ipsos house wines and wines by the glass are from ‘Farr rising’ and ‘by Farr’, made and bottled by internationally and nationally renowned winemakers, Gary and Nick Farr at Bannockburn near Geelong, Victoria.
