New Museum for WA

The New Museum for WA is being developed in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre. It includes the redevelopment of the Western Australian Museum’s existing buildings and construction of a bold and contemporary building that frames and integrates with the stunning heritage-listed building. The New Museum, scheduled to open in 2020, will share the stories of Western Australia’s people and places, acting as a gateway for visitors to explore the extraordinary history, distinctiveness, creativity and diversity of our State and region. While construction is underway the WA Museum continues to deliver a range of exciting and dynamic exhibitions and programs at each of its five public museums in Fremantle, Albany, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie-Boulder. You can also find Museum collections and programs in a range of surprising and unusual places including the Perth Concert Hall and the new Discovery Zone in the State Library of WA.
