Beginning in 1982 with “old Marigold”, the first Hong Kong style Chinese restaurant in Sydney, at 299 Sussex Street and then in 1986 Regal Restaurant at the corner of Sussex and Liverpool Streets which was famous for its lavish banquets, Marigold Restaurant at George Street is the third restaurant in the group.
