CERES' mission is to help people fall in love with the Earth Located on the banks of Merri Creek in East Brunswick - CERES is one of Australia's most visited environmental education centres. What was once a wasteland and rubbish tip, is now a 10-acre urban oasis that has evolved over 38 years; educating, celebrating and evolving into a leader of ecological sustainability, cultural diversity and social enterprise. Enjoy the native bush setting, with an organic farm, gardens, chickens, community gardens, bike repair and bee groups. Sign up for a workshop to learn more about urban farming, cooking, preserving, global warming, water and energy conservation, the ways of the Wurundjeri and social ecology. Relax and enjoy seasonal fare at The Merri Cafe. Find a variety of edible plants, books, tools and expert advice from the gardening gurus in the Nursery. Shopping at the Organic Grocery, a zero-waste hub of lively local groceries or online at CERES Fair Food.
