Bowen parkrun

Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed five kilometre run or walk, which takes place every Saturday at 7am sharp at Barker Park on Horseshoe Bay Road, Bowen. Participating is easy, however you must register before the event on the Parkrun website to get your time. You only have to register the once. Parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a five kilometre timed walk or run whether it's for fun or as part of a training plan. It offers an opportunity for all the local community to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful surrounds and get physically active at the same time. They want to encourage people to jog or run together irrespective of their ability - this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is free! Children and dogs are welcome to participate however must be supervised at all times.
