Recorded sound and moving image are perhaps the most vivid forms of expression known to humanity. These technologies capture a ‘living’ record of people, places, and events – a record of who we are and were, and of who we want to be. The NFSA is the custodian of the national audiovisual collection. The collection represents the cultural diversity and breadth of experience of all Australians. The cafe Biginelli Espresso is open at the NFSA Wednesday – Saturday (please check the website for times), and one hour prior to start time for events. The cafe is closed Sunday - Tuesday. Plan your visit - COVID-19 information. Check out the program, so you know what is on offer on the day you plan to visit. Book your ticket! All events will now require pre-booking so we can adhere to capacity restrictions. General access to the building or Hive does not require a booking. Feel confident that we are taking extra measures to ensure your safety. Help us protect the community by adopting safety measures when visiting. For the health and safety of other visitors and our staff, please do not visit the NFSA if you are required to be in quarantine or to self-isolate Please visit our website for further details, including our safety measures and COVID-safe plan.
