A quaint colonial cottage in the Ipswich suburb of Churchill has a new life as a charming gift shop.
A Gift With Love, was hatched by Helen Vaccaneo who runs a trophy shop from the same address. She found a lot of customers were also looking for small gifts at the end of the school year or sporting season and opening a gift shop seemed a logical step.
Her little side venture has now become a busy outlet, taking up three large rooms at the front of the house. It is open 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, but can also be opened on Saturdays by appointment for groups – it is a great place to include on a shopping tour!
Helen said her aim was to offer variety and plenty of affordable options starting at under $10.
“You can pick up a lovely coaster set, for example, for $7.50.”
Visitors will find vast displays of gift items, children’s toys, soaps and scented candles as well as carefully sourced homewares, including cushions, throws and decorative framed prints.
Helen said her plan was to open for extended hours at weekends at certain times of the year – follow her Facebook page for updates.
