Araluen Botanic Park is a very special place. Developed in the late 1920s for recreational enjoyment, it is an extraordinary garden in a breathtakingly beautiful bushland setting with heritage of a bygone era in the circa 1930s log cabins located in each garden precinct. The Park is nestled in a unique deep forested valley in the Darling Range, where the Stinton Creek flows across enormous granite veins into the Canning River. The grand canopy of Marri gums frames the Park which comprises undulating tranquil botanic gardens of natural and developed beauty. Located within 59 hectares of native Australian bushland, the gardens cover 14 hectares within various precincts that feature various exotic plant species that flourish in the cool micro-climate of the Roleystone Perth Hills. The micro-climate and high rainfall provides the garden with four seasons of incredible natural wonders featuring both exotic and native species and an internationally recognised Camellia collection. Stroll through handcrafted stoned pathways across the terraces that are lined by enormous stone pillars and shaded jarrah pergolas to discover Perth's largest heritage rose collection. Renowned for the annual tulip festival in spring when 100,000 tulip bulbs put on a spectacular show and people flock to capture the 'best' selfie with the colourful backdrops. Araluen holds great attraction for weddings, photography, bird-watching and family get-togethers.
