Cathay Pacific has made its much-anticipated return to Adelaide, launching a seasonal service that operates three times a week between Hong Kong and the South Australian capital.
The inaugural flight departed Hong Kong International Airport just before midnight on 11 November 2025 and landed in Adelaide the following morning.
This route reestablishes a vital direct link between two dynamic cities, strengthening trade, tourism and cultural ties across Asia and Australia.
Cathay’s Chief Customer & Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, expressed delight at the return: “We first launched flights to Adelaide in 1992. Adelaide is a dynamic city … we look forward to welcoming customers onboard to experience our signature Cathay Pacific service.”
The airline employs its modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft for the route, offering fully flat beds in Business Class, roomy Premium Economy, and comfortable Economy seating. Passengers can also enjoy Cathay’s award-winning inflight entertainment and menus crafted in partnership with Michelin-starred Hong Kong restaurants.
Wi-Fi is available on all flights. Currently, Business Class passengers and Cathay Diamond members receive it for free; from 15 November, Cathay Gold members and Premium Economy travellers will also gain access.
