Handbuilding Ceramics Workshop

Learn the art of handbuilding ceramics in a relaxing pottery studio in Kyneton, one hour from Melbourne. Over three hours, you'll be shown some simple handbuilding techniques to create some great pottery pieces to take home, such as platters, plates, mugs, oil burners and vases. We’ll also break briefly for a delicious morning/afternoon tea. This workshop is perfect for beginners, and is an ideal introduction to experimenting with clay and different hand building techniques. You’ll be shown the basic techniques of pinching, coiling and slab building, as well as decorative surface approaches like impressing, or attaching handles or spouts. After the workshop, your pieces will be glazed and fired and can be collected from the studio, or can be posted to you (postage fee not included). Workshop class sizes are capped at two people, making for a fun and engaging class. Make a day of it with a friend and grab a meal in beautiful Kyneton and explore the town. Session times: Morning (10am–1pm) or Afternoon (2pm–5pm) on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays or Tuesdays.
